Note:Chi’s Sweet Home Vol. 2 is, of course, the sequel to Chi’s Sweet Home Vol. 1. If you want to read that review first, check it out here. Otherwise read on!
So, it looks like Chi is still getting used to being a part of the Yamada family. There’s plenty of ways for a kitten to get into trouble. Whether it’s pancake-stealing or an unexpected tumble into the bathtub, the world can be a very confusing place.
We also get to meet the cat that is creating all the ruckus around the apartment building. The Black Cat wanders its way into the apartment, and Chi and Youhei have to defend each other from it.
Again, Chi’s Sweet Home isn’t very deep. There’s some very cute comparisons between Chi and Youhei, since they’re at about the same age developmentally, but that’s about it. It’s a cute, sweet story about a kitten and her family, and it’s worth a read to put a smile on your face.
Highs: Chi wants to find something ‘tasty’
Lows: Not exactly literature, but it’s not supposed to be
Verdict: A fun, quiet read
Further Reading: Neko Ramen Vol. 1, Honey and Clover
