Manga Monday: Perhaps Yotsuba shouldn't put up so many notes to herself...

Yotsuba learns about recycling, becomes a milkman, and even gets herself grounded in Yotsuba&! Volume 6.

Note: Yotsuba&! Volume 6 is, of course, the sequel to Yotsuba&! Volume 5. The review of Yotsuba&! Volume 1 is here, and the review of Yotsuba&! Volume 5 is here. Otherwise, read on!

The girls are back in school, and Yotsuba wants some homework too!  So Miura and Ena assign Yotsuba an 'independent study' on recycling.  She collects all sorts of cast-off items from the girls and proceeds to combine them in a way that only she would think of.

It's about time Koiwai and Yotsuba got bicycles, so they take a trip to the bicycle shop.  After a few mishaps there, Shaggy Beard sends them on their way with a set of new wheels.  Yotsuba has to be careful, though.  See, she doesn't have a 'license' yet, so she has to have a small bicycle and only ride with someone else.  Will she be able to remember all the rules?

When Koiwai wants a bookshelf, he can't find what he wants in the stores.  Jumbo comes over with supplies, and they proceed to build one themselves.  But then Yanda shows up, and the whole project is in peril.  Will Yotsuba's help be enough to save the day?  And how is it that where Yanda goes, junk food always seems to follow?

It's still summery, even though school's started up again, and Yotsuba's starting to get more freedoms.  Soon, she'll be able to ride by herself and run errands.  For now, though, she'll have to stick with Koiwai and the girls, and keep picking herself back up when she falls.

Highs:  Torako's bicycle is awfully cool

Lows:  I rather agree with the older lady that it's odd how tough Yotsuba tries to be

Verdict:  Less participation from the girls, since they're back in school but there's still plenty to do with Koiwai and his friends
